Seiko Military Watches - Our next pick is perfect for those who want a more tactical military look and feel. The all-black SRPE69K1 ditches classic military design cues in favor of a darker, more subdued feel, while delivering excellent performance.
As you might expect, there are many differences when comparing one military watch to another. However, for simplicity, the tactical watch category is generally divided into three types: A subtle design feature is the curved bezel.

When viewed from the side, the bezels usually sit at the top of the case. But the Monster's bezel is slightly lowered, which contributes to the overall thickness of the watch's profile. Seiko military watches are a good choice if you are looking for affordable watches.
– Seiko Sports Automatic Black Dial Srpek
Included in the Seiko 5 Sports collection, these watches feature a clean-looking dial with printed hour and minute markers. Some models have luminous dots and hands that are coordinated to promote harmony in the design, which is slightly reflected by the red tips of the seconds hand.
It's a perfect read, just an easy read at a glance. This particular model may have recently been discontinued by Seiko, although some retailers claim that one can be ordered upon request. The Seiko 5 Military SNK809, on the other hand, has been produced in millions and is very readily available.

Seiko is a watch brand that almost everyone is familiar with, whether they never wear a watch or have a large collection. The company was founded in 1881 by KintarÅ Hattori in Tokyo, Japan as a watch and jewelry business.
It wasn't until 1892 that he started making watches under the Seikosha brand, which translates to "House of Exquisite Craftsmanship". In 1924, production of Seiko wristwatches began and the brand quickly became a force to be reckoned with.

Breitling Cockpit B
The design is now instantly recognizable and features an oversized bezel that is easy to rotate and read. The style is understated and practical, offering luxury and brand watch features in a durable and functional package.
Like the CWC and Hamilton models, this watch was used by professionals in the field. This attractive German-made mechanical watch has a complicated movement that appears in the back of the watch. The watch, with its strong aviation aesthetic, has a compact dial that offers all the chronograph functions you'll ever need.
This is not a field watch designed for the outdoors. Instead, it's a high-end piece that's most comfortable on an aviator's shoulder. Fortunately, Seiko also offers watches for those who can't afford to spend more than $300 on a watch.
And if you were worried about the drop in quality, fear not, there's plenty of value in Seiko watches under $100. The Milsub, as it is known, features distinctive sword-sword hands, a larger bezel than the standard Submariner of the period, and a lume that has now aged and shows a nice patina.
Suunto Core
Of all the military watches that have been owned, this is the rarest diver's watch on the list. Their best quality is 22 years, a function with a precision of +4 sg. Slide Desde entonces valoro more el movimiento que el nombre de la marca que los commercializadas a la hora de adquirorlos.
Judging by the SRPD59's aesthetics and construction, it's perfect for the tough, active guy who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Or wet! Water resistance of 100m is good for an occasional swim (just not deep anymore).
If there's one glaring flaw in this watch, it's definitely the 18mm black strap. I consider myself a strap snob and it's not uncommon for me to switch manufacturers for better third party options. However, the strap that comes with this Seiko 5 is just bad.

It gets the job done, mind you, and looks decent enough on the wrist, but it's very uncomfortable when trying to shoot it (from the finely sewn piece that hides the holes) and it looks cheap.
Dial And Hands
does and doesn't. feel like a real watch too. From Seiko's vintage Recraft collection, this watch is the perfect choice if you want to stand out or be nostalgic. It's bold on the wrist and its retro palette of green and gold is reminiscent of popular men's watches from the late 60s and early 70s.
Other cool design touches include a dial that's so bright it's like a laser beam when the sun hits it directly, and white 12, 6, and 9 markers with white-lined sun/dial markers. push push push push
The matte black dial continues the military aesthetic. The outer ring has white Arabic numerals showing the minutes, while a smaller inner circle of Arabic numerals shows the hours - this two-sector display is commonly seen on military watches, while the outer shows the hours while the inner shows the 24-hour clock.
-or shows. military time. The white hour and minute hands are filled every five minutes with Seiko's signature luminous paint (LumiBrite) as well as the dots on the outermost perimeter indicator. With this model you get a 21 jewel automatic movement, day/date window, 30m water resistance and a Hardlex crystal that provides excellent durability for its small size.
– Seiko Black Dial Black Canvas Automatic Snk
As we mentioned in the beginning, this is for those with a big budget, coming in under $100. You won't find a cheaper automatic military watch at this price anywhere! For our fifth selection, we return to the Seiko 5 line with the SNK809 model. This Seiko automatic military watch is perfect for those on a budget who still want good quality and a classy design.
For those looking for simplicity, consider the Seiko 5. In its 37mm stainless steel case you will find a black dial, luminous hands and Arabic numerals. The watch is reasonably priced, powered by a 21 jewel movement and protected by a durable Hardlex crystal.

Accuracy is listed as -20/+40 seconds per day, which isn't quite a chronometer, but more reasonable for the price. A simple time adjustment every few days or even once a week will keep your time accurate.
After a week of testing, the Seiko 5 tester was only 18 seconds slower per day on average. At this rate, I'll probably only adjust once a week. In response to Magnus, these are made in Malaysia.
Seiko Sgk
You can find Japanese collectible models made from the same parts. They are usually 20 to 30% more expensive. If you want to go for a Japanese made Seiko, look at the high end models like SARB or SARY.
While your SNE435 is completely waterproof, it only takes 30 minutes to an hour in direct sunlight and it's ready to go. Solar charging gives you uninterrupted power for up to 10 months. The combination of dive watch design themes and a nylon strap make this a great military/diver hybrid, with the gorgeous dark green colors helping it stand out from the crowd.
The dial features large, luminous hour markers, while the arrow/bat hand combination makes the watch very easy to read. This is not a watch that you will wear with clothes. It goes with both casual and dressy outfits, although you may have to compromise on how buttoned up your boats are.
Of course, it also goes well with diving equipment. This is a self-designed glass that resists scratches better than normal mineral glass, but not to the level of sapphire. As I expected to see acrylic it is attractive for the price.
What Makes A Good Military Watch?
The crown sits at an unusual 4 o'clock position and is not retractable, meaning the case is only water resistant to 30m. Good for rains and showers, but you may want to avoid swimming. You also can't manually wind the watch with the crown, which is one of its drawbacks, but simply shaking the watch will wind it anyway.

The crown is also a bit small, but it's not very convenient when you're trying to set the time or date. The case back has a Hardlex display window that displays the in-house 7S26 automatic movement.
The rear and rear bumpers contrast well with the rest of the matte finish, and the unadorned movement matches the overall aesthetic perfectly. The case has a nice weight, a prominent and non-obtrusive attitude, and although it is simple, it has a real character.
The Presage SRPB43 in Ice Blue Sunburst is a beautiful dress watch, but sometimes you want something a little more sophisticated. So if you're looking for a versatile piece that can hold its own in any outfit, you can't go wrong with the SZSB013.
Seiko Srpd / Skx / Skx Diver
At their core, military watches are geared toward people living on the edge of survival. We're talking about fortune hunters, paratroopers, sailors, extreme sports enthusiasts and anyone else who needs to jump out of a plane or jump into water at short notice.
To be clear, this doesn't mean that the average Joe can't get a lot of enjoyment out of a solid tactical watch, rather it means that tactical watches themselves should be judged on how well they perform their intended tasks.
For years we recommended the beloved SKX007/SKX013 in that top spot, but they were discontinued in 2019 and have since gotten progressively more expensive (assuming you can find one online).
